Goodbye Ceramics

Sorry for being MIA for the past two months. I had been so busy with school and extracurriculars that it was ridiculous. These past few weeks, I've finally had some time to chill and relax. I just got back from Pensacola in Florida, and had the most amazing time hanging out with my friends on the beach.

I could pretty much wake up to this everyday.

The sun going down:

I finally finished my Lady Gaga necklaces and this is how one of them turned out:

Here are Henry and Chance modeling my necklaces...lol :

I love how the color of the letters turned out. As for the charms and the big beads, I had to spray paint them because gold glaze has been discontinued for a while due to lead content.

Here's another project that I used spray paint for:

And yes..it is a toilet. A toilet for baby royalty. The concept of the project was to make a functional chair, and the first thing that popped up in my mind was a toilet. I'm weird; I know, but my teacher dug the idea so I stuck to it.

While taking ceramics, my enemy was the kiln. Anytime I put anything in there, something would always go wrong whether it was the glaze color, cracks that appeared out of no where, etc. The toilet had to be the biggest challenge for me. Everything went wrong after it got put into the kiln, but I managed to salvage it by using a lot of putty and spray paint.

The good news is that I passed the class with an A, and the bad news is that this is my only/last ceramics class :(
Ceramics is definitely a fun class that does require a bit of work, but is fun nonetheless.  I see why dental schools recommend it to pre-dental students; it definitely tests your perceptual ability.
